Theres  only 3  things we must teach A horses
that will be the foundation for all the  training
we will ever
TEACH THEM  :
FORWARD MOTION  AT A WALK
FORWARD MOTION AT TROT   &
WHOA  = Whoa  stop.

I HAVE HAD SEVERAL STUDENTS ASK ME ABOUT
LEFT BRAIN RIGHT BRAIN -
AS FAR AS TYPES OF
HORSES WELL LET ME SAY
THIS

                   (I) Explored theories about the two
hemispheres of the brain and the ways that
they differ in function and control of the
body. According to recent research,  right
brain dominant and those who are left brain
dominant process information and respond
in different ways.

Most theories suggest that right-brain
dominant horses  are guided by the more
emotional, intuitive right hemisphere while
left-brain horses  respond in sequential,
logical ways, guided by the left hemisphere.
To a great degree, There  personality is
shaped by  brain type.

But don't let yourself confuse  this with
right handed and left hand and that is
determined by the way a EMBRYO -neck is
turned in there dams womb AS HE DEVELOPS
IN THE WOMB. (BARREL RACERS LESSON UP !)
Which will be the direction  a
FOAL  will be
able to turn the easiest ,  . These so called
natural horseman with the (new) skills of
training is a (joke) . Think of this    IF SOME
ONE PUT A THIN ROPE HALTER  where the
surface area that is making contact with
the
horses poll
in only an area of less than a
1/4"   a sensitive area .    THEN ADD A CUT
OFF  FIBERGLASS [CATTLE SORTING STICK & A
nylon cord clipped to the end with a leather
popper .   I  can train a human with this .   I
laugh at the persons that buy these  devices
and if you were to watch the dvd road to the
horse 2007 edition where three of the most
sponsored  clinicians compete as horse
trainers in a three day event . You will see
Clinton push a horse he said several times
would be a great kids horse cause he's lazy .
To the point of aggression . Which shows he
really doesn't have a clue about what their
thinking . All trainers know horses are only
going to do what they feel they have too .Its
like I hear people say my horse loves to be
trail rode etc...      I say " no he don't " do you
like to go to work , take out the trash & mow
the yard " NO" but it's something we have to
do . All animals including us are the same in
this aspect  .. "ROAD OF LEAST RESISTANCE
IS THE KEY ". ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MAKE
THEM UNDERSTAND THAT DOING WHAT YOU
ASK,  WANT BE UNREASONABLE AND THAT IT
IS SIMPLER THAN WHAT THEY WILL HAVE TO
DO IF THEY DON'T . WITHOUT EVER SHOWING
ANY AGGRESSION TOWARDS THEM . JUST LIKE
THE SOUTHERN CALI. TRAINER   Pat Perelli
who never was around horses till age of 12
and then a rent by the hour stable  boy.AND
THE WORD SAVVY PROVES HE WAS TAUGHT
BY TEXANS BECAUSE HIS WORD
SAVVY as in
SAVVY STRING   IS A TEXAS WORD FOR
UNDERSTAND ..................WHICH IS THE WAY
HE USES BY IT BY SMACKING THEM ON THE
HIND END  .    You savvy ?     . SO DON'T LET
THE WORDS FOOL YA  .   My self I have been
lucky TO HAVE BEEN AROUND HORSE PEOPLE
FROM A VERY EARLY AGE  OWNED 2 PONIES
AND A DONK (donkey) BEFORE I COULD
WALK

If  you want to train horses watch
a herd of horses   and notice the Pecking
order and see if you can look at a herd of 50
or more and pick out the pecking order over
several days by looking and watching each
and every horse . And then adopt a couple of
mustangs , ( foundation Quarter  Horses /
basically the same thing )   WITH A LITTLE
GOVERNMENT REMOUNT MIXED IN .  BECAUSE
WHEN YOU get these horse gentle and
trained you will be as close to master
trainer as any of these DVD sellers .  A TRUE
HORSE  TRAINER  THINKS LIKE A HORSE
WHEN TRAINING .    IF HE IS THE HERD
LEADER. AND REMEMBER IF A   HORSE CAN
FEEL A FLY ON HIS BACK HOCK IT DOESN'T
TAKE A WHIP TO GET YOUR POINT ACROSS .
ANY MORON CAN ABUSE A HORSE BUT A
HORSE TRAINER CAN MAKE A HORSE GIVE HIS
HEART AND SOLE TO HIM BY JUST ASKING
.
  HORSE
PERSONALLITIES

        # 1 FEARFUL - SCARED TO
DEATH OF OWN SHADOW TYPE which are
MORE  guarded and cautious / and needs
more  space / and gets all of his confidence
from watching others .BEING A PERSON OR
ANOTHER HORSE .[THEY HAVE VERY LOW
SENCE OF SELF WORTH ]  MOST WERE NOT
HANDLED AS YOUNG HORSES  ...SO IN SHORT
YOU NEED TO BUILD THAT PART OF THEM
BEFORE REALLY STARTING THEM IN TRAINING
..  LOTS OF HANDS ON TIME
..

#2 THE first to the gate
TYPE
-THE  GREETER THEY  LIKE  BEING
NOSEY , LOVES BEING  RUBBED , SCRATCHED
& GROOMED ,AND OFTEN ENJOYS PLAYING
WITH OTHER HORSES AND WELCOMES YOU
INTO THERE PERSONAL SPACE AND ON THE
OTHER HAND SEES NO PROBLEM WITH
INVADING  YOURS AS WELL . & STEPPING ON A
FOOT MAYBE .. THEY STRUGGLE WITH
ATTENTION SPANS [ ADHD }TYPE  . BECAUSE
THE WORLD IS SO INTERESTING TO THEM SO
TRAIN THEM WHERE THERE'S NOT MUCH
GOING ON. IT WILL BE IN YOUR FAVOR
.

#3   THE GLARE-R -WE OWN ONE
WE CALL GLARE-MO  THIS MARE IS  WAS MORE
THAN LIKELY WORKED HARD AS A 2 OR 3 YR.
OLD AND THEN LEFT ALONE ,  USED AS A
BROODMARE TYPE SINCE  AND THEY DON" T
KNOW ANY THING OTHER THAN HARD WORK ,
SO IT TOUGHER TO MAKE THIS HORSE A TRAIL
RIDER ,LIKE GLARE-MO SHE IS A LONER BUT
HAS A GREAT MOTHERING ABILITY AND IF YOU
SADDLE HER SHE STARTS TO TREMBLE AND
LOOKING FOR A BARREL , MUST HAVE BEEN A
BARREL RACER AT ONE TIME   . THEY REALLY
JUST WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE .   THEY GLARE
AT YOU FROM THE SIDE ; MOST OF THEM
KINDA HAVE A GLAZED LOOK IN THERE EYES
/ IGNORING YOU IS EASY FOR THEM . YOU
WANT    THIS KIND OF HORSE FOR
BROODMARE'S ONLY , MOST OF THE TIME / I
WOULD SAY THEY REALLY DIDN'T HAVE MUCH
CONTACT WITH HUMANS
........

 # 4 CHALLENGING
type
] WHICH IS MY FAVORITE   .               HAS
A STRONG SENSE OF [SELF]  Can be a ticking
time bomb in a  weekend riders   hands . THE
ONE WHO HEAR ABOUT THAT THREW THEIR
OWNER OFF FOR NO REASON , WHICH IS THE
FIRST CLUE THEY ARE A WEEKEND RIDER
BECAUSE THERE IS ALL WAYS A REASON AND
A HORSE HAVE GAVE AT LEAST THREE HINTS
SOMETHING WAS FIXING TO HAPPEN BEFORE
THEY EVER BUCKED . A LOT OF THIS IS CLASS
here ..  THIS TYPE OF HORSE HAS WHAT IT
TAKES TO BE  WORLD CHAMPION  /    THEY
ARE SOMEWHAT TERRITORIAL &
CONFRONTATIONAL THIS HORSE IS VERY
CONFIDENT  , ONE THAT WAITS TO
CHALLENGE YOU EVEY CHANCE THEY GET  /
ITS LIKE THEIR  IS THINKING THEIR  SMARTER
THAN YOU / AND IN SOME CASES THEY WIN
/

beyond my

My muddy face,

They live for the time
We spend  in the  mud

For that is TIME they
learn to trust,

                         With every
interaction we must realize we are teaching
the horse good and/or bad habits. There are
not any out right mean or uncontrollable
horses; only horses that have trust issues.
After all, horses are prey animals in a life or
death struggle."By S.L. Davidson
